Setting limits for downstream resellers

Protect your upstream account with clear cPanel account, storage and overselling limits.

Downstream limits protect your Master Reseller service from one customer exhausting storage or account capacity. They should match the plan sold to that customer.

Step by step

  1. Set the reseller storage allocation and cPanel account count according to the purchased package.
  2. Where available, control bandwidth and whether the reseller may create unlimited packages.
  3. Restrict advanced privileges that are not part of the service.
  4. Record the enforced limits in HostLaunch so support and billing see the same values.
  5. Review usage before approving manual limit increases.
Important

An “unlimited” package created by a downstream reseller still consumes your finite upstream resources. Permissions to create unlimited packages should be granted deliberately.

Checks and troubleshooting

If a reseller cannot create an account, compare their current usage and account count against both their individual limits and your Master-level limits.
