A downstream reseller needs an account that can access WHM and own/create cPanel accounts. In a Master Reseller environment, this is usually created from the Master control panel rather than ordinary reseller WHM.
Step by step
- Open the reseller-creation area of your Master panel.
- Enter the customer identity/domain and choose a unique reseller username.
- Assign the correct reseller package or resource limits.
- Set a strong initial credential or use the secure credential-delivery method provided by the panel.
- Create the reseller, then verify WHM login and create a disposable test cPanel account if appropriate.
Important
Grant only the reseller permissions included with the product. Excess privileges can expose functions that affect other customers or exceed your upstream agreement.
Checks and troubleshooting
If creation reports success but login fails, verify the exact WHM URL, username and whether the account is active before resetting credentials.
