This policy forms part of the terms governing services supplied by HostLaunch. It applies where a plan is described as providing an “Unlimited” or “Unmetered” resource.
1. What Unlimited Means
Unlimited means HostLaunch does not apply a predetermined conventional quota to the advertised resource during normal use of the hosting service, unless a separate technical or package limit is stated. It does not mean infinite computing capacity or an unrestricted right to consume shared infrastructure.
2. Normal Website Hosting Use
Unlimited disk space, traffic and hosted domains are intended for the normal operation of websites and associated services. Hosting must not be used primarily as general-purpose cloud storage, a backup repository, download mirror, software/archive repository, media dump, file-sharing service or other bulk storage/distribution platform unrelated to the normal operation of hosted websites.
3. Reseller Hosting
Where a Reseller Hosting plan includes unlimited disk space, hosted domains or monthly traffic, those resources remain subject to this policy and the plan's stated number of Hosting Accounts. Creating multiple accounts to evade technical, security, fair-use or enforcement restrictions is prohibited.
4. Resource Protection
All services remain subject to technical controls for CPU, memory, processes, disk I/O, database activity, network use and other finite server resources. HostLaunch may temporarily restrict a workload that materially degrades the platform, threatens stability or security, or adversely affects other customers. Where practical, we will work with the customer to optimise, upgrade or move an unsuitable workload.
5. Bandwidth and Traffic
Unmetered or unlimited traffic is intended for legitimate website and service traffic. It must not be used primarily for public proxies, bandwidth sharing, unauthorised relays, abusive automated traffic, download mirrors or other uses whose main purpose is to consume or redistribute network capacity.
6. Backups
Any backup facility supplied with a hosting service is an operational convenience and must not be treated as the customer's only backup. Customers remain responsible for maintaining appropriate independent copies of important data. Hosting space itself must not be used primarily as a backup repository unless a service expressly permits it.
7. Fair Use
HostLaunch does not impose hidden fixed quotas on resources genuinely advertised as unlimited. Fair use is assessed by the nature and impact of the workload. If use is incompatible with the purchased platform, we may ask the customer to reduce or optimise usage, upgrade, migrate to a more suitable service, or cease the activity causing the problem.
8. Upstream Infrastructure
Some HostLaunch services use third-party data-centre, network or hosting infrastructure. Customers must comply with technical and acceptable-use restrictions that reasonably apply to that infrastructure. HostLaunch may take proportionate action where necessary to comply with an upstream network requirement or to protect service availability, security or other customers.
9. Changes
We may update this policy where reasonably necessary to reflect changes to services, infrastructure, security requirements, upstream requirements or law. The current version and effective date will be published on this page.
