A Master Reseller package should define what a downstream reseller may consume and create. Clear limits make pricing easier and reduce the chance that one reseller consumes disproportionate upstream capacity.
Step by step
- Decide the storage allowance for the reseller and its owned accounts.
- Set a maximum number of cPanel accounts and, where your panel supports it, package/resource permissions.
- Decide whether overselling is permitted and how you will monitor real usage.
- Leave headroom for growth, backups and other resellers on the same Master service.
- Document the package commercially so the customer sees the same limits you enforce upstream.
Important
Do not allocate every unit of your upstream capacity on paper with no operational reserve. Nominal account limits and actual disk consumption are different measures.
Checks and troubleshooting
Review package economics using actual customer usage after launch and adjust new-sale limits before capacity becomes tight.
