Troubleshooting WHM account creation failures

Work through domain conflicts, usernames, package permissions and reseller resource limits.

WHM normally returns a specific reason when account creation fails. Preserve that message; it is far more useful than repeatedly clicking Create.

Step by step

  1. Check whether the requested domain already exists on the server or in DNS/account data.
  2. Check whether the cPanel username is valid and unused.
  3. Confirm the selected package exists and is permitted for your reseller.
  4. Review reseller disk/account limits and any package restrictions.
  5. If all inputs are valid, send HostLaunch the exact WHM error and the intended domain/username—never the password.
Important

Repeated retries can create confusion if the first request partly succeeded or an upstream timeout occurred. Check List Accounts before retrying.

Checks and troubleshooting

If WHM shows the account despite an error in your billing/provisioning system, reconcile the existing account rather than creating another one.
