Suspension temporarily disables a cPanel account without permanently deleting its data. It is appropriate for many billing, abuse or security situations where you may need to restore service later.
Step by step
- Verify the username/domain and customer before acting.
- Record why the account is being suspended in your client system.
- Use WHM Account Functions to suspend the correct account and add a clear internal reason where available.
- When the issue is resolved, unsuspend the same account.
- Test the website and any critical services after reactivation.
Important
Suspension is not a substitute for preserving evidence or securing a compromised account. For abuse/security incidents, investigate credentials and content before simply restoring access.
Checks and troubleshooting
If an account remains inaccessible after unsuspension, check whether it is also over quota, DNS is incorrect, or another server/security control is involved.
